- How much does it cost to charter a superyacht in the Whitsundays?
- Whitsundays charters on the Ahoy Club fleet start from about A$140,000 per week for LUMIR, which takes 10 guests. LEGACY (12 guests) and RASCAL (10 guests) are both from A$150,000 per week. These are base charter rates for the yacht and its crew; the Advance Provisioning Allowance, which covers food, beverage, fuel and mooring fees, and any applicable taxes are additional.
- Where do Whitsundays charters start and finish?
- Most Whitsundays charters embark at Hamilton Island or Airlie Beach Marina, both of which connect to domestic flights. Your broker confirms the embarkation point when the itinerary is set, and it can usually be matched to whichever airport suits your travel.
- Can you visit Whitehaven Beach and the Great Barrier Reef on the same charter?
- Yes. Whitehaven Beach and the outer Great Barrier Reef are both within comfortable cruising range of the Whitsunday islands, and a typical itinerary includes both alongside quiet island anchorages. Heart Reef can be added as a seaplane excursion from the yacht.
- How long should a Whitsundays charter be?
- Ahoy Club runs sample Whitsundays itineraries at three nights, one week and two weeks. Three nights suits Whitehaven Beach and the nearest island anchorages. A week allows the outer reef as well as the islands without rushing, which is why it is the most commonly booked length.
- Are Whitsundays yachts chartered with crew?
- Yes. Every yacht in the Ahoy Club Whitsundays fleet is chartered fully crewed, with the captain and crew included in the weekly rate. Ahoy Club does not offer bareboat charter, where the charterer skippers the yacht themselves.
