Eight things we noticed
01
Italian brands are getting bigger.
Sanlorenzo's 72m SILVER FOX, first of the new 74Steel line, was a show standout. Riva's 54m SAIRU is here, with a 70m on the horizon. The lines between yacht brands and megayacht shipyards are blurring.

Turkey has arrived at the top end.
ANGELIQUE, 87.7m from Turquoise Yachts, is the largest yacht ever built in Turkey and possibly the most talked-about yacht on the docks.

The spa is moving up.
NIXIE, Lurssen's new 102m, gives wellness its own deck and keeps the tanning and lounging lower down, so the top of the yacht becomes a sanctuary. Expect other yards to follow.

The stern is the new social heart.
Benetti's Oasis decks on PERSEVERANCE and DAGGER, Riva's cascading beach area on SAIRU and the three-tier stern on the new 38m Azimut ALLE III all hand the aft end back to guests.

Great refits can still win.
Some of the yachts we rated most highly weren't new at all. EMERALD (1990 Feadship) and REVERIE (2000 Feadship) felt anything but old. ROCINANTE, the 78m Lurssen, came out of a €40M refit looking transformed. And CORAL OCEAN, the 73m Lurssen we own and manage, has been one of the most successful charter platforms afloat since her full rebuild in 2022. The lesson for buyers: a well-built older yacht with the right refit behind her can be the smarter, more economical buy.
Oceanco's 111m deserves a post of her own. She has more than 130 glass panels, including near-3m-wide, 32mm-thick windows in her lower-deck cabins where you'd normally find portholes. Collision-proof and an extraordinary feat of engineering.

Teak done properly gets noticed.
The 120mm teak on CORAL OCEAN, caulked with grey Sikaflex, is rarely seen and a serious crowd pleaser. It gets commented on during almost every tour through her.

Hybrid is going mainstream.
NIXIE, SILVER FOX, DAGGER and SPIRIT all run hybrid. PERLA LUNAR, Sanlorenzo's first steel hybrid, can run for 8 hours with zero emissions, and LEVIATHAN's 5.5MWh battery means silent nights at anchor.
From the dock She caught our attention most, and not for her size. The craftsmanship and detail were unbelievable, and the glass is an extraordinary feat of engineering: near-3m-wide windows in her lower-deck cabins, where you would normally find portholes.

From the dock Lurssen's latest debut did not disappoint. Putting the spa up top means the tanning and lounging happen lower down, and the upper deck becomes a true sanctuary. You could easily spend half a day up there. Expect other yards to copy it.
