Originally launched in 1982 as a North Atlantic scallop dragger, the Anne S. Pierce was purpose-built to withstand the brutal conditions of commercial fishing in some of the harshest waters on earth. Following her commercial career, she was repurposed by Memorial University in Newfoundland as a research and training vessel, where she served for years in the demanding North Atlantic.

Between 2019 and 2021, the vessel underwent an extensive refit at Glovertown Shipyard in Newfoundland, where she was carefully reimagined into a modern expedition yacht. Every detail of the refit was considered to enhance comfort, safety, and functionality while honoring her rugged origins.
