About the Pershing 8X

The Pershing 8X made its debut at the Düsseldorf boat show in January 2019, drawn by designer Fulvio De Simoni with the Ferretti Group's engineering team and its Product Strategy Committee, chaired by Piero Ferrari. Pershing called it "the carbon fibre revolution", and the phrase is the point: the 25.55-metre hull and superstructure are built in carbon fibre, a material lighter and stiffer than the fibreglass most yachts use. Less weight means more speed — with the uprated pair of MTU engines the 8X exceeds 48 knots, about 90 kilometres an hour on the water. Pershing built it to bring that thinking into its under-30-metre heartland.

Life aboard happens on one open level. Glass doors between the saloon and cockpit drop down into the deck, so the lounge and the aft seating become a single indoor-outdoor room. A staircase built into the yacht's side wing leads up to the sport-fly, an open sun deck with sunpads and a second steering position. Below, four ensuite cabins sleep eight guests: an owner's suite that spans the boat's full width, a VIP double in the bow and two further guest cabins, all with raised headroom, plus separate quarters for the crew. An underwater sound system even plays music while you swim off the back.

The 8X has been in continuous production since 2019, with new hulls still being delivered in 2026, and buyers typically weigh it against the Princess S80, the Azimut S8 and Riva's 76' Perseo Super. The honest trade-off is range — about 320 nautical miles at cruising pace — so this is a coastal yacht, not an ocean-crosser. What you get in return is the ability to cruise above 40 knots, which very few yachts this size can do: a five-hour passage becomes barely three, and over a week's charter that means more mornings at anchor and fewer hours in transit.

It suits owners and charterers who want to cover coastline fast — up to four couples or a family of eight who would rather spend the week swimming at anchor than sitting in transit.
