What is a Horizon?

Horizon has built in Kaohsiung since 1987 and is now Asia's largest luxury yacht builder, turning out semi-custom motor yachts from 18 to 50 metres. The fast-displacement FD series, drawn with Dutch designer Cor D. Rover, is what put the yard on the world stage: superyacht volume and range in a hull that burns a fraction of the fuel a planing boat of the same size would.

Horizons charter well in Australia and the Pacific for a practical reason — the FD hull carries enormous interior volume for its length, so a 27-metre boat lives like a 32-metre one. Expect wide beam, generous sundecks with a jacuzzi forward of the bar, and a fuel range that makes Whitsundays-to-Great-Barrier-Reef itineraries comfortable rather than a calculation.
