Benetti launched the first Oasis 40M in 2020, pairing exterior lines by British studio RWD with interiors by New York architects Bonetti/Kozerski. The idea behind this 40.8-metre model was simple: stop stacking guests higher above the sea and bring them down to it. The stern steps down almost to the waterline, two side sections fold out flat to widen it, and an infinity pool sits just above the water — a layout Benetti calls the Oasis deck. Where most yachts this size end in a high aft deck and a ladder, this one ends in something closer to a private beach.

Life on board tilts naturally towards that stern. The main saloon opens straight onto the pool area, so the walk from sofa to sea is a few steps with no doors worth noticing. Ten guests sleep in five cabins: the owner's suite sits forward on the main deck — unusually generous for a boat this length — with four guest cabins below. A sky lounge on the upper deck gives a quiet retreat, and the top deck carries the bar and open-air dining. The tender loads through a side garage, so the beach area stays clear of equipment, and around seven crew run the ship from their own separate quarters.

The market has already voted on this one. YachtBuyer's records show more than twenty Oasis 40Ms delivered since 2020, making it one of the best-selling yachts of its size in recent years — useful to know whether you are buying (a proven design with healthy resale interest) or chartering (plenty of well-run sister ships to compare). It competes with the Custom Line Navetta 42 and Sirena 42M, and its fibreglass hull will cover about 4,000 nautical miles at a gentle pace between fuel stops. What sets it apart is still that stern: rivals have since added fold-out terraces, but none built the whole boat around one.

It suits owners and charter parties — especially families — who judge a holiday by hours spent in and on the water, and want a yacht arranged around that rather than around formal entertaining.
