Benetti launched the first Diamond 145 in 2020 as the flagship of its Class range — the semi-custom, composite side of the yard, as distinct from its full-custom steel ships. The exterior, with glazing running almost the full length of the yacht, is by Giorgio M. Cassetta; interiors come from Benetti's in-house style studio, though the first hull, Ink, was fitted out by Achille Salvagni. The defining decision is the material: at 44 metres, this was the only yacht of its length built in fibreglass — Benetti's original craft — which let the yard offer real superyacht volume on a series-built footing.

The owner takes a 60-square-metre apartment forward on the main deck, with a walk-in wardrobe and its own bathroom, while four guest cabins sit below — two doubles and two twins that convert — sleeping ten guests in all. Days drift outdoors: there is more than 350 square metres of open deck, including a pool forward on the upper deck and a 102-square-metre sun deck for dining and lounging. The space people remember is the beach club, a lounge at the stern just above the waterline that opens to the sea through full-width sliding glass doors, furnished with sofas and a bar. A crew of about eight looks after service.

The Diamond 145 sold as a short series rather than a one-off: the second yacht was handed over in December 2020, and Benetti announced the sale of a fourth hull soon afterwards. Rivals at this size include Sanlorenzo's Alloy, the Columbus Atlantique 43 and Mangusta's Oceano 43. What tips a buyer or charterer this way is temperament — a displacement hull, meaning one that pushes steadily through the water rather than skimming over it, topping out at 15 knots but quoted by Benetti at 5,000 nautical miles of range at 11 knots. It offers the space and pedigree of a much larger yacht without a full-custom build.

It suits a family or group of up to ten who want quiet, long-range cruising, generous outdoor decks and a beach club at the waterline — superyacht scale without headline speed or a full-custom project.
