MISCHIEF TO TURN HEADS ON SYDNEY HARBOUR THIS SUMMER

Article as seen on Superyacht Australia Magazine.

The 52.4 metre superyacht Mischief is on her way to Australia arriving late 2019. Up until now, Mischief has been cruising in the western and eastern Mediterranean and the Caribbean as a holiday favourite for a line-up of celebrities including Will Smith, James Packer, Kris Jenner and many more.

Soon to be the largest yacht in commercial survey and available for charter in Australia, Mischief’s arrival will delight many well-seasoned charter clients who are used to the superyacht standard available around the world.

“Australia is welcoming more and more superyachts to its shores, catering to a growing number of local and international travellers seeking a luxury yacht charter experience. We are thrilled to see Mischief join this growing fleet and deliver an offering likened to chartering in the Mediterranean,” says owner of Mischief and Managing Director of Ahoy Club, Ian Malouf.

Mischief was built by well-known Italian shipyard Baglietto and was launched in 2006. Bought by her new owner in 2015, she has undergone several extensive refits since then with the latest in 2018. Her exterior design by Francesco Paszkowski includes her hallmark beam of 10.3 metres, a draft of 2.98 metres and a full displacement steel hull and aluminium superstructure which will make Mischief the largest superyacht available for charter based in Australian waters.

The refit in 2018 was the most extensive to date and included a striking look with a freshly painted French Navy hull and white boot stripe plus a revamped contemporary interior by Blainey North drawing on the dramatic use of white reflective surfaces accented with blues and blacks.

In the 2017 refit, investment in technology was noticeable by the addition of a large 2 m x 3 m video wall in the main saloon. There is also an onboard phone app in development that will allow guests to order service direct to their cabins.

With an ultra-modern stabilisation system that reduces roll motion effect, Mischiefs’ average cruising speed is 13.5 knots with a maximum of 17 knots. Her 90,000-litre fuel tanks gives her a range of 4,500 nm.

Mischief’s main salon now features a large marble bar, with back-lit mirrored wine and glass racks – a theme found in two further wine stores within the cabins. The upper deck sky lounge is yet another bright white space, with curving glass bays inviting guests out to the dining areas on the aft deck. The full master suite lies forward on the main deck, with two further large doubles and smaller twins on the lower-deck – all complete with ensuites.

Mischief’s line up of water toys is as impressive as it is extensive. Besides the jet skis, banana boat, surfboards, flyboards, fishing gear, water slide and paddleboards to name but a few, there is a new climbing wall for guests to attempt to scale.

Onboard the leisure activities continue with a sundeck, gym equipment, an eight person spa pool and the clay pigeon shooting from the top deck is a definite win with guests.

Mischief can accommodate 12 guests over six large cabins including a luxurious full-beam master suite, three VIP double guest cabins and two twin guest cabins serviced by a crew of 14.

Mischief will be available for charter in Australia from late November from A$490,000 per week.
