Yacht Charters Antalya

Vibrant city life in a Mediterranean coastal playground

What better way to experience the historic sights of Antalya than with your own private residence on the sparkling Mediterranean sea. This former Roman port is a magnet for pleasure seeking yacht enthusiasts, and the city is ripe for exploration. Enjoy the ultimate in luxury travel with a yacht charter in Antalya.

BEST TIME TO VISIT

Marked by the arrival of many pleasure seeking yachts converging in the Old Harbor, peak season in Antalya takes place in the summer months of June to August. Temperatures hover around 30°C, delighting sunbathers and water sport enthusiasts alike.

Visitors arriving during the off season in Spring or Fall are typically still warm enough for snorkeling and scuba diving, with temperatures ranging between 15°C to 21°C. This slightly cooler weather makes sightseeing a rather pleasant way to spend the day. Visiting during winter is recommended only for those who don’t intend to enter the water, as this season can get quite cold and rainy.

Activities & Experiences

Antalya is home to a veritable smorgasbord of interesting sights to visit. We recommend trying to include some historical site visits alongside more relaxing beach days for a well balanced tour. Consider these must-do activities when creating your covetable itinerary:

The charming village of Kaleici (commonly referred to as “Old Town'') will make you feel as though you’ve been transported through time. Winding cobblestone streets lead you past expertly restored Ottoman mansions which now house boutique stores, restaurants and galleries. The town square hosts an imposing fortress gate and clock tower and the area is easily accessible from Old Harbor, the most picturesque port to moor your yacht.

Antalya is home to 2 exquisite beaches, each with their own unique atmosphere. Konyaalti beach is easily accessible from Old Town and Old Harbor, and has modern conveniences such as sun loungers and shower facilities. Flush with delectable restaurant and cafe options, this pebbly beach is a major drawcard for locals and tourists alike. Roughly 20km from the town center, you’ll find Lara Beach. With fine sand and calmer waters, Lara Beach is a popular alternative to Konyaalti where visitors can rent paddle boards and enjoy family-friendly shallow waters.

Get back to nature in this spectacular 30,000 hectare national park. Under the sweetly scented pine and eucalyptus trees, keep an eye out for wild boar, goats and Eurasian lynxes. Large birds of prey such as falcons, eagles and hawks call this park home, and avid bird watchers are likely to spot some during a hike. Consider hiring a car to visit the breathtaking coastal ruins of Amos, an ancient city whose temple and theater are still identifiable.

There are two major historical sites to explore in Antalya. Aspendos is well worth a day trip for any history enthusiast. The city was at its peak in the 2nd and 3rd centuries, and most of the ruins visible today are from that period. The major attraction at the site is a Roman theater, which is among the best preserved of its kind. The theater has been fully restored and can comfortably seat 15,000 people. A lesser known archaeological site is Termessos. This ancient city lies 34 kilometers northwest of Antalya, and is located on rocky hillside terrain with expansive views of the surrounding landscape. Containing the remarkable remains of a theater, colonnaded street and upper agora, this city is also well worth a visit.

Antalya is host to many arts and cultural events throughout the year, with most occurring during the summer months. The Golden Orange Film Festival is generally held in September or October and showcases national and international films. For those who enjoy live music, the Mediterranean International Music Festival is held over 6 days each October, and the Antalya International Folk Music and Dance Festival Competition takes place in the last week of August. For a family friendly attraction you can visit all year round, consider the Sandland Art Festival at Lara Beach. More than 10,000 tons of sand has been used to create more than 100 sand art pieces, with new pieces being displayed seasonally.
